Scott E. Willkomm, President
Scott Willkomm is President and founder of Old Stone Capital Partners LLC (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), a boutique strategic consultancy and financial advisory firm focused on the financial services sector. Mr. Willkomm brings over 25 years of financial industry experience as an investment banker, management consultant, director and senior executive of public and private institutions to solving clients' needs.
In connection with several of his advisory assignments, he occassionally serves as an officer and member of a client's Board of Directors.
Prior to founding Old Stone Capital in 2012, Mr. Willkomm was Managing Director of Coventry Securities LLC (Fort Washington, Pennsylvania) a FINRA registered broker-dealer, as well as President of Heritage Life insurance Company, Coventry’s US-domiciled life insurance company. From 2007 to 2009, he was Chief Executive Officer of Mortality-Linked Products with J.G. Wentworth, LLC (Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania), the leading purchaser of illiquid life insurance products in the United States.
Shortly after the company’s formation, Mr. Willkomm joined Scottish Re Group Limited (Hamilton, Bermuda) in March 2000 as the Company’s President. During his seven-year tenure as President, Director, and Chief Executive Officer, Scottish Re evolved from a start-up company to an NYSE-listed life reinsurance specialist with global operations and clients in 49 countries. Under his leadership, the company grew to a global leader with assets totaling $15 billion, revenue of $2.5 billion, and $1.2 trillion of life reinsurance in force. In addition, Scottish Re was a pioneer in the development of the insurance-linked securities market. Furthermore, Scottish Re operated one of the largest offshore life companies serving the global ultra high net worth market from offices in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg.
Prior to joining Scottish Re, Mr. Willkomm spent thirteen years as a New York City-based investment banker specializing in the banking, insurance, and financial services industries. He was a Managing Director with Prudential Securities Incorporated and was responsible for that firm’s insurance industry investment banking activities. In addition to Prudential Securities, Mr. Willkomm was a member of several firms, including Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., Sandler O’Neill & Partners LP, and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. He earned his A.B. in Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine).
